Been a while since anything new has been updated. Blame it on a recent discovery of an old classic video game called Dragon Quest VIII. New Nederlands Lotskaarten are available on Dock's Card Page. Dock is donating some of his spare time to translate his card sets into English for more to enjoy. English versions will be available soon.

Ye Olde Inn's Premiere Quest contest has come to a close. Now it's up to our forum members to be the judge. If you'd like to vote on which Quest deserves the prize, be sure to join the forum and check out the Contest section in order to cast your vote!

The HeroQuest Font Pack on the Gaming Aids page has been updated. It is now complete with all North American and European style fonts, including Derfel Link's new

HeroQuest Title Font

as seen throughout the Website for those who already have it loaded.

A couple of updates today. First we have some fantastically redesigned and translated Chaos Spell and Men-at-Arms cards for Greek players. Idomeneas has done a great job on these and they're available on his card page as well as a localisation section at the bottom of the Greek Game System page.

Also available today is a beautiful single square tile by Jon Usiak. Jon introduces a chain Crank into the world of HeroQuest for all those creative Quest designers out there. Available on Jon's Tile Page, this Crank includes a map icon and some ideas for use. Don't let that stop you from taking this tile and creating your own exciting scenarios. The possibilites are limitless!

A tile for Running the Gauntlet, a quest featured in the Dave Morris HeroQuest novel, The Screaming Spectre is available. It's been designed by Jon Usiak and is ready for download on his tile page.

Jon has also provided 5 new icons for those who wish to add more variety to their quest maps, or use the miniatures they are based on. Available on the Quest Design page under the Gaming Aids section are the new Archer, Crossbowman and Man-at-Arms for the respective Battle Masters minatures. Also available are a Halberd and Swordsman Sentry for use with the Henchman Miniatures from Advanced HeroQuest.

The Spiked Floor Trap icon I designed has been updated. It looks much better now. I'll be updating a few of my other icons soon as well.

I'm also issueing a reminder for anyone who is interested in submitting an entry into our Quest Contest, or for those who may have old quests they wish to share, now is the best time. We're less than half-way to our final entry deadline. Enter now for a chance to win a HeroQuest Dwarven Pass puzzle!

Back in the saddle today with a large update. All the Greek Game System cards and Character cards are now available on the Greek System Page. More greek stuff coming our way from Idomeneas. There is a preview link for his Greek Chaos Spells in the Forum.

Got some Spanish and Italian stuff slowly coming in. Those will be the files I'll hit next along with the two exclusive quests for forum members.

For those who don't yet know it, our first contest kicked-off on July 1st. Details can be found on the Forum.

It's taken a lot of work and even more time, but the bulk of our files (cards and tiles) have been converted to a universal format to save on storage space. Most of the files remain the same with only minor changes (such as cut lines for the cards and some tile rearrangements). The French Wizards of Morcar cards have been touched up and slightly improved as has a couple of the Dutch cards by Dock. There are still a few files left to convert, but they will be updated over time. Now we can get back to the game and start getting more resources up on a weekly or bi-monthly basis.

Looks like it's been a while... quite a while. The updates have backed up as I'm currently reformatting the resource files to print universally in Letter and A4 to help cut down on storage space. There's so much to do, yet so little time. There's plenty more to come, such as Greek, Italian and Spanish HeroQuest resources. Hopefully we'll get the Quest Contest Rules ironed out so that we can start by the beginning of July. The prize is ready to ship to the winner. All contest details will be release in the forum.

Due to our current Situation, all 300dpi files have been removed to appease our current Web Host. Guests who would prefer a 300dpi file instead of the 150dpi files still available are asked to contact me. The situation is unfortunate, but we are working on ways to keep our hosting ( Such as this!), at least until new accommodations can be found. In the meantime, we will continue expanding our resources in Greek, Italian and Spanish however, only 150dpi files will be posted and 300dpi will remain available only upon request.

If Ye Olde Inn is able to survive long enough, we have big plans for late summer. A Quest Design Contest is in the works with a nice prize to the winner. Details will be revealed in the next month or two on the Forums. This will be an especially exciting contest as anyone may enter and all entries will be judged by Forum members instead a selected judging panel.

Ye Olde Inn is a fan supported Website, thus we are unable to afford a dedicated server, which would solve our problem. It is our policy not to sellout to advertisers in order to keep our Website clean and clutter free. Although donations are both accepted and extremely appreciated, 87% of our 'cheap, shared-hosting' costs last year were out of my own pocket. We at Ye Olde Inn do not charge fees for guests to download our great content, as we and all of our contributors strongly believe in giving back to our community members who continuously provide great fan-created content in order to keep our favourite fantasy board game alive.

Even though during recent discussion about our present situation it has been mentioned that if every visitor donated a single dollar once a year, we would be able to maintain Ye Olde Inn on a fast and spacious dedicated server rather than on a 'limited' unlimited shared server, we do not expect our guests to be responsible for the costs incurred in providing Ye Olde Inn to our community. All we ask is that our guests understand our situation, and that any guests who are willing or able to assist please do so (donations, providing fan content, engaging in forum discussions, providing advice on any and all situations from Web Hosting to Website feedback... any and all are appreciated).

A special "Thank You" goes out to all who have helped Ye Olde Inn become what it is today, and to all who continue to help Ye Olde Inn become what it will be in the future.

While reviewing a sneak preview of some of Phoenix' upcoming work, I noticed for the first time that the card images for the European and North American Men-at-Arms/Mercenaries are actually different. In keeping with completion, I've added the Wizards of Morcar Men-at-Arms images to the Gaming Aids page.

Coming up over the next couple weeks will be various additions to the French System and Expansion pages. HeroQuestFrance has been most generous in providing a tonne of scans to be assembled for those who would prefer their resources en Français. A new section will also be added containing new Quest Map icons for new traps and items that can be found in fan created quests. Jon Usiak has provided the first entry and will also be adding a tonne of new Monster icons in the future months.

After receiving an email from a fan questioning some of the spells in The Mind's Eye, I feel a bit of clarification is needed. Originally, just the matching Chaos Spells were to be used in place of the Scrolls, however, I see no reason why actual cards shouldn't be made up. So I've made them. You can find the new Spell Scrolls for use in this quest on my Card Page.

Azrael's Monster Cards have been extracted from the Archives and are now listed for download on Azrael's Card Page. The Gallery has expanded with Artemisia, Azrael & Squirm's Miniatures. There's always more coming, so keep checking in!

My apologies to you all. Three of the Quest Maps for the Single Quest Collection, Chaos Unleashed, are failing to load, thus delaying the release of the set. Hopefully we are able to resolve the issue soon. Until that time, the Single Quest Collection cannot be released. I'm sorry. In the mean time we do have a preview of Chaos Unleashed, remastered by Phoenix, available on Drathe's Quest Page. It's pretty well the final version, just without the three Quests with the misbehaving maps. Check it out and let us know what you think on the forum!

New update to the Gaming Aids Page. Spell Scroll Card Templates have been added.

The North American Standard Size Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord Artifact cards have been updated. They are no long just a resize of the ones at the back of the Quest Books, rather a set of remakes using the Card Templates and Spell Scroll Templates.

A new page has been added that may help guests easily find what is available on the site. Check out the Table of Contents page.

A few things have been added today. On Drathe's Card Page you'll find three somewhat new sets of cards. These are Equipment and Treasure Cards that were found in the European Game System and excluded from the North American Edition. They have been converted to North American Standard size along with some text more akin to the North American Cards. The treasure cards are separated into two small sets, ideal for expanding the treasure deck for Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord. The European exclusive Equipment Cards have two pages you may print. One page has two cards done up the same as the Euro one (Wizard Only Equipment), the other has the same equipment without the Wizard only exclusion. Check'em out!

Small update to the Monster Card Templates on the Gaming Aids Page. A second version is also available in the download with a section for Special Abilities.

Right now, I'm working on updates for the Equipment Cards and North American Style Wizards of Morcar Cards. These updates will correct spelling errors and phrasing in the text. I'm hoping to get these up tonight, but if not, they will definitely be available tomorrow.

A new section was added to the Ye Olde Inn Forums this week. A Gaming Group Forum has been started for those who are looking to get together with others in their area to play some games. Sometimes it's difficult to get some games going and there are a surprising number of people visiting Ye Olde Inn who live close to each other, all over the world. There is a section for each of the Countries with a high number of visitors, so hop on the forums, register, and get to know others who live near you!

The Single Quest Collection is just about complete. Phoenix has taken over and is in the process of re-creating right now. Looks like we're on track for a January release.

Update!

The Equipment Cards are now updated, as well as all the North American Style Wizards of Morcar Cards (except for the Mercenaries, they aren't in need of an update).

Those who have been lurking about the Ye Olde Inn Forums know that the Single Quest Collection is well on it's way for a release at the end of January. The Collection is 95% complete. I'm just rounding out some of the Quest Notes for the last few quests, then it should be released soon after. I'm still shooting for the end of January even though it could be earlier. I just don't want to give anyone's hopes up.

Ye Olde Inn turns One Year Olde!

Ye Olde Inn has been reviving Agin's Inn for one whole year and counting. We've come a long way in that time. We've grown substantially in resources, new Tiles from great new artists, there are many new Quests and Cards available and they keep on coming. Thanks to Dewayne Agin, we also have his previous site restored in the Agin's Archives. Our guests have grown from a few to tens of thousands from five Contenents across the world. Many thanks to all our Guests here at the Inn, and many more for all those who have helped by contributing to our ever expanding HeroQuest Website. Let us now continue all our efforts and keep HeroQuest alive!

The first update of the year!

Jon Usiak has provided a new tile, the Double Room. Similar to the Quad Room, the Double Room turns a regular 4x4 room into two 4x2 rooms creating even more design possibilities. Don't forget to share the quests you design with these tiles with all of us at Ye Olde Inn! Grab your Double Room tile from Jon Usiak's Tile Page.
