Not sure if this has been covered as yet, but a french site has released a gorgeous Quest Pack previewed on this forum : http://heroquest-remaster.xooit.fr/t402 ... -B-tes.htm

Very impressed with the tile art :)

If this is already being discussed, apologies - thought I would announce it if not. Discovered it while looking for Beastman art for my new figures.

best,
Seb

More news:

Bonjour!

I was wondering if you were going to release your great quest packs in English as well? I'd love to play them.

Thanks!

"Sjeng" from the Ye Olde Inn HeroQuest community.

Hey Sjeng,

Yes, I definitively plan to release it in english, but I don't know when. There is a huge amount of text to translate (cards, quests, story, compendium...) and it will take a couple of days to do this alone. Then, in my french version, I really take care about keeping the same "narrative flow" as in the original heroquest. And I'm afraid that I cannot be able to do such a thing in english... Well, I can write in english, but telling a story requires another level. Maybe on Ye old Inn, you get some buddies able to translate and/or revise my translation to make something decent ?

Let me know about it !

Bests,
Pan

If you are willing to translate it all, and post it over at the Inn, I'm 200% sure several people are willing to shape it into a fluent story text!
Just go there, register, and create your own topic for it :)

Sjeng

Ok, thanks for the info. I am not available at the moment to launch this translation project, but I think early 2014 will be an appropriated moment.

Thanks for your interest,

Bests

Pan

Let me tell you guys as someone who has translated a whole quest pack from French to English:

The first translator (the creator himself) should translate without any pressure, just taking care of meaning.
Then he should post any coherent text passage here as soon as it's finished.
Then we can edit the text according to lore and in-text coherence as a community effort.
Whoever has the time after reading a snippet should immediatly post his effort quoting the original translated text he edited.
From there on we can improve it.

It's basically the way Sjeng suggested to Pan already. It's quickest, and it's independent from any one person finding spots of time in between his other things to do.

I'm sorry but I only had the agreement for France.
I desactivated all links of this "remaster" as requested recently while we were working on the spanish and the british versions with great fans.
We're not allowed to give you the PSD files which is including protected material.

I see those watermarks as a challenge.

I was able to download the subterranean forest pack - I'd love to have a translated version of the
text, if possible. This one looks great, just glancing at it.

If nothing else, though - great job on the design and publishing - I love the page backgrounds,
and the fonts, and especially the color maps. Great job.

Indeed. Just the text would be great. We could always make a "regular" NA style quest book from the maps and the notes, so we can at least play it. I'd be willing to remake the maps with HeroScribe.

"The Emperor suffers from a seemingly incurable illness that even Mentor himself cannot remedy. There is but one hope for a cure, but only you heroes can seek it out. Loretome tells of a mystical forest located deep beneath the earth, and of the fanatical giant spider-worshiping night goblins who dwell there. Finding the cure will not be easy. You go to a place of dark druids, guarded by savage wild boars and blood-thirsty trolls."
