I found out about Le Tertre in the 25th thread, but didn't realize it was linked from Gravallion's site until I read this thread. Still gotta check out HeroQuest the Movie thread. Seeing as it is such a wonder, I was happy to stumble upon it again and learn more from Grav's forum.

I'm definitely willing to help out with translation/localization and/or getting the maps into HeroScribe.

I need to recap where we are with this...

There's the French 2012 remastered edition of HQ. Which is basically a fancy coloured version of the original game if I recall correctly. So basically, no need to translate it.

Then there's Champion de L'Empire. KK is working on translating that I believe, and I provided him with the NA maps. (how are we on that one KK?)

Then there's the Subterranean Forest and Le Tertre des Homme Betes. I'd be happy to remake those maps as well in HeroScribe, as long as someone else translates them ;)

I hope to see translated versions of the last three soon :) Maps and quest notes on horizontal pages as per NA format is fine, I can print them above one another on A4 paper. Just as long as it's not in a PDF booklet, because then it's a pain to seperate the pages :P

I have most of the maps done. The translation requires a lot of transcription, which I cannot do with my hand in the shape that its in.

Champion of the Empire: Who volunteers for making the final North American style quest book if I provide them with all maps and texts?
I have way too few skills and the thing could be ready in no time. For editing - if need be - especially shortening the texts I'll help. Daedalus, too, I hope.

*raises hand* If the text is finalised, I can compile the booklet. Similar to the ReMastered OH and WZ. For those who don't want booklet style pages, I can do a special format upon request as well.

There is also "Kit Forteresse" which I am in the process of translating. It re-imagines the Adventure Design Kit as a full blown rules expansion with random dungeon generation, new monsters, status effects, skill tests, lock-picking, random events... all very impressive!

I am about 50% done translating the rules text, but after that is reediting for clarity. The cards are going to take much longer. I work on it for 30 minutes or so a night. Hopefully I can keep up this pace!

After translation I guess I either present the text to HeroQuest France for implementation into the very impressive graphical style used, or redesign them with the resources available here.

**edit: post script, the " !!! NOT A JOKE !" cracks me up every time I read it :)

Re: HEROQUEST, THE NEW EDITION SOON AVAILABLE !!! NOT A JOKE

Postby QorDaq » January 6th, 2017, 2:20 pm

So I just saw the 3-part video (reveal?) on YouTube of what I believe is the culmination of this project. Or maybe an update? I cannot speak or understand French, so it's hard to tell. However, it was intriguing to watch as I tried desperately to understand what was going on via context. I probably "Got" about 30% of the info...*Chuckle*...

That said, the concept looks really interesting and I was really curious about the lock-picking component, which appears to be a card and dice driven mini-game based somewhat on Farkle/ Blew It/ Cosmic Wimp Out, etc. types of push-your-luck dice games.

I'd love to see an English translation on those videos.

The first Part (1/3) can be found HERE. Can someone confirm that this is the same (or at least related), project?
maj! = Klingon word for "Good". Used in the context of "I approve".
