Two new tile additions to Jon Usiak's Tile Page. The Long 8x4 Room and the Quad Room. Fantastically detailed as usual, these two tiles add a lot of new board possibilities to spice up your Quests. The Waterway Room has also been updated with Map Icons.

Also updated is Phoenix' Quest Page with links to some of his other fantastic works.

Nothing added to the site today, but I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm currently working on a collection of single quests. I'm aiming for around 14 quests like in the Game System Quest Book. Each Quest will be separate and may be played in any order. Requirements to play will vary from just the Game System to the Game System plus all expansion packs released by Milton Bradley depending on the quest. I'm hoping to release them by the end of January so keep checking back in to Ye Olde Inn. Hopefully we'll also have more fan content from the HeroQuest community available between now and then. If you have anything you'd like to share with the community, send it our way!

Today the tile section has expanded with the debut of Jonathan Usiak's very first HeroQuest tile! Available on Jonathan Usiak's Tile Page is a spectacular tile, the Waterway Room. Jonathan's attention to detail is astonishing in his first attempt at tiles. If practice makes perfect then there are definitely great things to come!

Ye Olde Inn had quite a bit of code updated over the weekend. Over 1400 (fourteen hundred) files have been recoded, many with new URL references as newly every downloadable file name was changed. Hopefully everything is running smoothly but I'm not 100% positive. Odds are I made at least one typo somewhere. If you find any broken links, please let me know either in the forum or by email.

The Return of the Witch Lord Quest Book is now available in Dutch. Find it through the Dutch Link (if anyone has a box cover scan of the Dutch version, please pass it along. This goes for the Main System as well. Even a digital photo would do) in the Return of the Witch Lord section.

Double Update!

The Dutch version of the Wizards of Morcar Quest Book is also available now. If anyone is able to provide a scan or digital photo of the box cover it will be greatly appreciated. This update is my last set of scans. That's it! I'm all out! Unless someone is kind enough to provide 300dpi scans of any material not already available (or a better copy if they wish), I'll move on to one of the other sixteen things I have on my to-do list for Ye Olde Inn.

All cards for the French Game System are ready for download. With the exception of the French Game Screen, this update completes the French Game System section. I realised that I needed to update the credits page for all the scans with Ye Olde Inn's new domain link. These new card scans posted today have the new page, but now I'm going to have to redo all the rest of the scans on the site with new credit pages. It'll take me a while, but they need to be updated and the new page also looks much better!

Both Against the Ogre Horde and Wizards of Morcar English Quest Books are available in 150 & 300dpi. The Ogre Horde quest maps were also rescanned and much better than before. Both these European Exclusive sets are now officially complete in English.

Both Elf and Barbarian Quest Books are available in 150 & 300dpi. With exception to the European Game Screen and European Promotional Insert, all the English versions are complete. I'm only 98% satisfied with the last batch of quest book scans, but they are close enough to move onto other things for a while. If there is anything you would like to see available, let me know on the Ye Olde Inn Forums and I'll do what I can to make it happen!

Huge update today. In one sweep the English European Game System is nearly complete (Game Screen remains, plus missing Expansion Advertisement). All English European Game Cards and Character Cards are available in Letter and A4 formats in both 150 & 300dpi. The North American Game System is officially complete now that I've added the Character Cards in A4.

Updated the Links Page with a link to Keld Hjortskov's HeroQuest Game Master Website. HQGM is a HeroQuest Utility which removes the need for a Game Master Player allowing you to play HeroQuest solo or in a group. HQGM keeps all the fun of HeroQuest by still using the game board, miniatures, cards, and even the roll of dice.

Ron Shirtz Deluxe Tiles are now available for purchase. Purchasing these tiles are a great way to say "Thank You" to Ron for providing all his smaller tiles free for personal use. Every tile purchased adds incentive for Ron to keep creating new tiles and 10% of every tile goes toward keeping Ye Olde Inn active and well maintainted.

The first volume of a new quest series titled Local Legends is now available for download in the Quest Builders Club forum. This is a series where anyone in the HeroQuest community may build a quest and submit it for the series. The North American Style Ogre Horde ogre cards are now available in two types. One with 'variable' listed as the Body Points for those who like to play with the traditional variable Body Point rules (like me!), and one with Body Point integers listed to compliment Phoenix' Localization. I don't have European versions up yet. Turns out, all the European Edition cards are a millimetre short. Thankfully I only have the Wizards of Morcar ones up so I only have about fifty to change. I'm going to do the Ogre Horde ones first though, then fix the rest.

Once the above is complete, I'll be doing all the tiles and then all the cards in A4 for my friends who are lucky enough to be able to print in the International Standard that we North Americans want, but lack.

I've finished the North American Style Wizards of Morcar cards and they are now available in Letter Size (A4 may be coming soon) on the WOM page. Some of the wording has been changed a bit for select cards to match the styles of other North Amercian cards as well as rules.

Since I'm finished earlier than expected, I may just relax this weekend and ponder some of my quest ideas.

Earlier than most recently expected, the Wizards of Morcar cards are finished and available on the WOM Page. The process wasn't as pain staking as I expected and went faily quick once I got on to it, which is good news for the rest of the European Cards. I've not yet finished the North American versions of the WOM cards, but who knows, they may also finishe ahead of schedule. Rather than just resizing the European Cards to the North American size, I'm going to use my card template (used for the Equipment Cards I made) to make the card faces and create them with proper fonts.

Good news to all those visiting Ye Olde Inn from across the ponds, I believe I've figured out how to create the PDFs here in A4. I need only to make a test page and have someone who can actually print on A4 paper try it out and see.

Not only have I finish some card updates, but I've reworked a bit of the site too. Okay, more than a bit, but with all the additions, I needed to separate the different languages of each expansion. Especially since Ye Olde Inn is now host to both 150dpi and 300dpi files.

The North American Game System page is complete. At the top you'll notice links to other Game System versions as well. Same goes for the expansions. The North American versions are the defaults, unless one doesn't exist, than the English version is default. Also complete are the North American Kellar's Keep, Return of the Witch Lord, Elf Quest Pack and Barbarian Quest Pack. Although I have future plans to have printer friendly versions of the EQP and BQP tiles available along with the Un-punched tile sheets. They will be hassle free to print since the tile sheets are larger than standard Letter size. Most printers tend to "shrink to fit" and the tiles will come out too small. (unless you use A4, which I have no files of because I don't have the ability to create anything in that standard, sorry.)

There's still a tonne of work left to be done. Wizards of Morcar Cards are coming and I'm crossing my fingers for this weekend. I'm also going to redo all the quest books (yet again!) so that there are both 150 and 300dpi versions. I'm also aiding Phoenix with some editing as a break from all the work I'm doing. In my spare time, I've got Rise of Darkness slowing coming along again, as well as a few more surprises, so keep checking back. If you scroll down and check the dates, I usually have 'something' accomplished every week.

A slight bump in the schedule here. I'm still working on the updates to the Game System cards, but I took a bit of a break to get the Marvel Winter Special up. It was a long time coming, but now it's finally here and yes, it's huge. The Image Link on the Quests Page defaults to the smaller 150dpi file (still a whopping 20MB for all 36 pages). For those who wish to collect a high-res 300dpi scan there is a link to it in the file description. Just a warning though, it's 425MB! Hence why it's not the default. We've got plenty of bandwidth and storage here at Ye Olde Inn, but do you?

I've been working hard on making the cards better to print. I've got it all figured out, but since I'm using such a high quality scan of the card backs and faces, the files are huge. So I decided have two versions available. One at 300dpi and one at 150dpi. On screen they appear the same, but the 300dpi ones actually come out better than the originals on my colour laser. Pretty fantastic if'n you ask me. Thus far I only have the Barbarian and Elf Quest Packs done in the new style. I doubt I'll get the Game System cards finished tonight and I'm going away for a few days so I'll have to get to those the first of the week. Then I'll tackle my large size Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord Artifacts. Once those are up I can finally work on the Wizards of Morcar cards now that I have my system all worked out. I was also going to have the option of cards with a white background on the faces instead of the light beige to save on ink as suggested by Phoenix, but unless I have demand for them, I won't bother with them any time soon... if at all.

Not only have I reworked my North American Equipment Cards in the new format (300 & 150 dpi), but I've totally reworked my card making template I created to make cards from. They now look freakin' sweet. If you downloaded the older version before, I suggest you get one of the new ones.

I also have plans to create North American versions of the Wizards of Morcar Cards and the Monsters from Against the Ogre Horde. I'll actually do them up at the same time as I do the other versions. It'll be easier that way.

I have a slightly new layout for the Game System and Quest Pack pages in mind. I'm going to separate all the different versions/languages and give them their own page. If I can get some decent scans of the box tops of each version/language, I'll use them as link buttons just above the page title so Inn Guests can easily click and switch to the other versions. The North American page will be displayed by default. This should cut down on some clutter as the site expands when I add more resources.

Two new sections (with classic content) have been added to the Expanded Gameplay Links; Rules and HeroQuest PC Games. In rules you'll find Dewayne Agin's Alchemist's Shop and Armoury along with Jacob Busby's Supplemental Rules. More to be added soon. In the HeroQuest PC Game section you'll discover the PC game Gerwin Broers has been developing for the last few years.

I've finished the recoding of Ye Olde Inn that I began a while back. The changes should be unnoticeable unless I've made a mistake somewhere, in which case, please let me know. Not only have I designed Ye Olde Inn to be expanded easily, I've condensed a lot of redundant code into separate files so areas that appear site wide can be easily altered by editing only one file, rather than dozens of WebPages.

Next up will be the Dark Company. Serious this time!

All the tiles from all the expansions are now available on the expansion pages. The Ogre Throne didn't turn out so well as mine has been used and placed in the throne furniture piece. This cause a bit of tearing on the edges. If anyone has a nice scan of theirs at 300dpi that they could send me, it would be greatly appreciated. I also do not have English scans of the Ogre Horde Spell Tokens. Again, if anyone can provide a good scan of these at 300pdi, it would be appreciated.

I'm going to redo the Main System Tiles. I've found a better way to do the tiles, as can be seen with the other sets. Other upcoming work will be the Quest Books for Kellar's Keep and Return of the Witch Lord, Wizards of Morcar. It would be nice to have a scan of an uncut back page of the Artifacts for these two sets. 300dpi scans would be ideal if anyone can provide them. In the mean time, I will provide the cut samples. Pictures of all Miniatures have been posted for each Expansion. I've also added the buttons on the Home Page to each of the Expansion Pages, which will make navigation of the site easier. I've also converted all of the thumbnails on the Main System page to GIFs instead of JPEGs. This should help speed up load times.

This image will be shown in various areas of the site where resources are missing. These are resources that I do not have. If you have the missing resource, and would like to contribute to Ye Olde Inn, please email me.

The Main System Instruction Manual has been scanned and is now available in PDF format on the Main System Page.

Almost finished the Main System. Just need to add the Box Scan, Board Scan, Furniture Shots, and one other special thing. I'm going to jump ahead and get the Barbarian Quest Pack and Elf Quest Pack Miniatures up first though.

I have pictures of the Main System Miniatures up now. I also have all the miniatures ready to go for the expansions as well. They won't be available until I code the pages for each of the respective expansion packs though.

This week I should have some pictures of Painted Minis up, as well as the Equipment Cards I created since I didn't get to them yet. Hopefully the mini pics will tie everyone over for a day or two.

Oh, and in case you didn't notice, the HeroQuest logo is a bit bigger and brighter!

The Tiles for the Main System have been added. I've fixed the Quest Book and changed all the images to 150dpi. The file size has dropped to 18MBs.

I've created my own Equipment Cards for the North American System. They aren't as extravagant as some on other sites, but I think they're pretty good for my first try. I'll post them over the weekend sometime.

I have the Quest Book and Hero Character Cards up on the Main System page. Although I think I'll have to do the Quest Book again. 300dpi seems to be a bit much for the book as it comes out at 57MBs.

Now I have to get the tiles up, some shots of the minis, and the instruction manual. Hmm, still looks like quite a bit left to finish the English North American Game System. I'll also add box scans at some point once the real meat and potatoes are online.

All of the Ron Shirtz Tiles are up except for the Sci-Fi set. As they don't really fit the HeroQuest Theme, I've decided to work on other areas of the site, and I'll get back to them later.

As of now, I'm still working on the Main System scans. I think once I'm done those, I'll just to something a little more exciting like the Barbarian and Elf Packs. Maybe I'll get a couple FanQuests up as well.

I have six of the Ron Shirtz tile sets available in the fantiles section. They are the HeroQuest Tile Set, Agin's Inn, Royal Palace, Lava Tile Set, Outdoor Terrain, and Dungeon Pits.

More are on the way, then it's back to scanning with the building of other smaller sections to break up the monotany.

Finally have all the mainsystem cards rescanned, and zipped up in neat little packages with PDFs for easy printing as well. Next will be the Quest Book and Tiles (I actually have the tiles scanned already).

The Main System page has been updated with new thumbnails. The Monster Cards were rescanned and zipped, and the Game Screen and Armoury were added.

Thumbnail images were also created for the expansion pages, and the banners were tweaked on the Forums and Links pages.

It's slow going at the moment, but I do update things when I have the time. I still have to replace the rest of the cards with actual size scans.

The site is up and running to some respects, much work has yet to be done. I still have to scan my collection, rescan the system cards as they didn't come out in actual size, and create proper thumbnails for the page images. Then I have to construct each of the pages as I scan the various quest packs.

There are still several things the site needs, and I will list them here in the news section as I come across them.
